City said it is willing to re-open dialogue
The city government of Manila said it is willing to open the dialogue with three major oil companies in the Philippines regarding the transfer of their oil depots from the riverside area of Pandacan to another site. Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim said he had not yet received relocation plans from Petron Corp., Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp. and Chevron Philippines, but will conduct the talks once the companies have submitted their plans. The Philippine Supreme Court ruled last year on the mandated transfer of the Pandacan oil depot to a less densely populated site. (March 5, 2009)
