City council to add biodiesel fleet
The Newcastle City Council of New South Wales, Australia will convert an additional 100 of its fleet cars to run on a blend of biodiesel fuel. Council Fleet Services Manager Geoff Dunne said biodiesel has been tested as an alternative fuel source in 12 vehicles. “Newcastle has been the national test market for biodiesel and Newcastle City Council was the first organization in Australia to introduce a biodiesel fleet,” he said.
