Chinese electric vehicle maker eyes strong sales in U.S.

Tianjin Qingyuan Electric Vehicle Co., which is engaged in research and development in the field of clean energy vehicles, aims to sell 3,000 units of its electric vehicles mostly in the U.S. in 2010, Reuters reported. The Tianjin-based company hopes to sell 50% more electric cars than it has sold in the U.S. in the past five years. Sales of its electric light trucks, vans and sedans in the U.S. were more than 2,000 during the period. The company also plans to enter the European market, the source said. (January 7, 2009)
