Chinese automakers face challenges breaking into the North American market
Chinese automakers have announced plans to enter the automotive market in the United States, but none have been able to meet U.S. Safety Regulations so far. Chinese vehicles have shown up at U.S. auto shows, and Chinese automakers such as Brilliance, BYD, and Nanjing Automobile Group have all stated that their vehicles will be sold in the United States but none have shown up so far. The North American market remains ultra competitive and analysts say it will be hard for Chinese car companies to break into the market. The most important decision for the Chinese automakers will be to decide which part of the market they want to attempt to target. (May 27, 2011)
