China's oil demand rebounds in September
China’s oil demand in September saw considerable growth in terms of both year-on-year and monthly rates due to the economic recovery. According to an expert with China National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC), the year-on-year growth of nationwide oil demand is estimated at 8% in September, in line with the country’s 8.9% gross domestic product (GDP) growth in the third quarter. Booming car sales, the beginning of the new school term, resumption of fish farming in the East China Sea and growing tourism before the National Day holiday propelled domestic oil demand.
