China's NDRC approves three wind farm projects
Chinas National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) said it has approved the construction of three wind farms in Hebei, which will have a combined capacity of 450,000 kilowatts (kW). One of the farms will be built by Guohua Energy Investment, to be located in Shangyi county. It will account for 199,500 kW. China Longyuan Power Group also applied to build a wind farm in Shangyi with a capacity of 150,000 kW. A third wind farm, in Zhangbei county, will be put up by Hong Kong Energy Holdings Ltd. (HKE) and China Energy Conservation Investment Corporation with a capacity of 100,000 kW. (July 28, 2008)
