China’s largest clean diesel engine plant on stream

China’s largest clean diesel engine plant has gone into production in Inner Mongolia. The new plant, which is a subsidiary of Haw Tai Automobile, has an initial production capacity of 300,000 units. It will manufacture Euro 5-compliant diesel engines. It is China’s first clean diesel engine for automobiles and could reduce energy consumption by a quarter, compared with gasoline engines of the same size. (February 2, 2010)
