China’s commercial vehicles sales declines in 2011

Data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) indicates that China sold a total of 4,032,700 commercial vehicles in 2011, down by 6.31% from 2010. A total of 3,033,600 commercial vehicles were produced in 2011, reflecting a 9.94% decline year-on-year. Sales of commercial vehicles in December last year reached 320,700 units, up 2.70% month-on month, but down 10.40% year-on-year. Dongfeng Motor was top on the list of China’s top 10 automakers by commercial value sales last December and the whole year of 2011. The top 10 automakers sold a total of 2,816,400 commercial vehicles in 2011, which comprises 70% of the country’s total sale. (February 6, 2012)
