China Yuchai launches first prototype Euro VI diesel engine in China
China Yuchai International Limited announced that its Guangxi Yuchai Machinery Company Limited (GYMCL) has introduced China’s first prototype diesel engine that meets Euro VI emission standards. The YC6L-60 diesel engine was jointly developed by GYMCL and Tianjin University’s National Key Laboratory. The new GYMCL’s YC6L-60 engine has a proprietary low-temperature combustion technology that lowers the fuel injection pressure requirement which improves the life span of the fuel injection system. The engine also uses a medium-intensity cooled exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) technology to produce a cleaner, more economic combustion process. In addition, the use of a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology, in conjunction with a diesel particulate filter (DPF) regeneration capability, reduces urea consumption which helps provide cost savings.
