China biodiesel producers struggle with specs
Most of China’s first-generation biodiesel producers will struggle to fully meet China’s first national specification standards. The Standardization Administration of China issued the country’s first national standard on biodiesel in January, and it came into effect on May 1. China is expected to issue standards for diesel that contains biodiesel as a blend by the end of the year. These standards include a decision by the Chinese government to set the minimum flash point for Chinese biodiesel at 130 degrees Celsius, which is identical to standards set for biodiesel in the U.S. (July 1, 2007)
