Chief says IEA needs better data on Chinese driving habits
There is an unusual discrepancy between the number of cars Chinese people are buying and their country’s demand for gasoline, says Nobuo Tanaka, executive director of the International Energy Agency (IEA). It could either be a statistical error, structural problems that prevent people from driving the cars or that “Chinese people love to park their car in their backyard instead of driving it,” Tanaka says.
