Chevron Phillips Chemical launches AlphaPlus

Chevron Phillips Chemical Co. LP (Chevron Phillips Chemical) announced it will begin marketing its normal alpha olefins line of products under the trademark AlphaPlus® NAO. Normal alpha olefins and their derivatives are used extensively as polyethylene comonomers, plasticizers, synthetic motor oils, lubricants, automotive additives, surfactants, paper sizing, and in a wide range of specialty applications. Known for their high purity, AlphaPlus® NAOs are available in the widest selection of fractions, ranging from C4 to C30+. The products are currently produced in the United States, but with the commissioning of Qatar Chemical Co. II Ltd. scheduled for 2010, Chevron Phillips Chemical will reaffirm its strong position as a worldwide supplier. (August 6, 2010)
