Chevron Oronite to expand Singapore additives plant

Chevron Oronite Company LLC, a subsidiary of Chevron Corp. with headquarters in San Ramon, Calif., U.S.A said it will expand its Jurong Island additives plant in Singapore. The expansion plans call for an overall increase in the plant’s manufacturing, blending, and shipping capacity. “Our Singapore plant, already the largest additives plant in the Asia Pacific region, was built to support the growing Asia Pacific market. The proposed project will help us meet the anticipated volume growth in the region,” said Andy Tugendhat, vice president of sales. The expansion of the Jurong Island additives plant is set to take place in 2014. “We are excited about this expansion in Singapore because it forms the apex of a long process of upgrading this particular facility,” said Walt Szopiak, regional general manager for manufacturing and supply. Szopiak said the planned expansion should double the capacity of the Singapore facility. (August 4, 2011)
