Chevron Oronite named “Best in Louisiana”

Chevron Oronite announced that its manufacturing site in Belle Chasse, La., has been named “Best in Louisiana” by the Louisiana Chemical Association (LCA). As the Class III winner (201-400 employees), Oronite was given one of four top SAFE (Serious About Fostering Excellence) Awards for its outstanding safety and environmental performance in 2009.
The “Best in Louisiana” designation is based on safety and environmental compliance information that plants submit to state and federal government regulatory agencies, as well as by the plant’s ability to demonstrate significant involvement in civic affairs and community life. “We are proud to have received this award from LCA because we place the highest priority on the health and safety of our work force and protection of our assets and the environment,” said Koon Eng Goh, Regional Manager, Americas Region, Chevron Oronite.
