Chevron debuts new fuel-economy oils for diesel engines
Chevron Corp. has introduced the newest product in its Delo 400 family of diesel engine oils focused on improving fuel efficiency at the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Kentucky, U.S.A from March 21-23.
Chevron described its new Delo 400 XLE Synblend SAE 10W-30 as a premium synthetic blend API CJ-4 product formulated to increase fuel economy and suitable for mixed -fleet applications.
According to Chevron, use of Delo 400 XLE 10W-30 has shown up to a 3.6% fuel economy improvement in short-haul Class 6 vehicles and up to a 1% improvement in long-haul Class 8 trucks, compared to using SAE 15W-40.
Delo 400 XLE is now available in drums across North America. The oil will be available in bulk starting next month, with jugs becoming available.
