Chery’s new line of cars at Auto Shanghai 2011
At the recent 14th Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition, Chery Automobile Co. Ltd. presented 26 vehicles, five power trains and a four-wheel drive system. The new vehicles impressed visitors with the company’s innovations. Two of the new vehicles include the Chery E5 and the Eastar. The E5, which is designed for mainstream consumers, comes equipped with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and on-board computer systems CAN-BUS and ABS+EBD. The new upgraded Eastar is equipped with a new DVVT engine technology, E-Gas system, TPMS system, ABS+EBD system, ESP system and and a cruise control GPS navigation system. Chery’s new technology includes a transmission with a new generation thrust steel belt and a hydraulic valve in split structure. The transmission is equipped with a hydraulic torque converter as clutch with low-speed locking. Chery also showcased three new models with energy savings, such as the G3, X1-EV electric vehicle and an extended range electric vehicle M1-REEV. Chery developed an add-endurance electric vehicle in 2010. Four new energy technology systems including an energy-conserving car, a hybrid vehicle, an electric vehicle and an alternative fuel vehicle, have been added to the Chery fleet. (May 19, 2011)
