Changan Ford Mazda JV to manufacture Volvo 60 Model in China

Changan Ford Mazda Automobile, the three-way Chinese joint venture (JV) between Ford, Mazda, and local automaker Chongqing Changan Automobile, is set to begin local manufacturing of the new Volvo S60 sedan during early-2011, reports SinoCast Transportation Beat. The newspaper added that the JV company will use its Ford Mondeo production line to build the Volvo S60 model, and has already assigned a dedicated management team to execute the move. The new Volvo S60, launched at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, will boast a 2000cc gasoline (petrol)-turbocharged direct injection (GTDi) engine. (March 10, 2010)
