Celanese appoints Fotheringham as general manager

Celanese Corp., a specialty materials company located in Dallas, Texas, U.S.A., has appointed John Fotheringham to be the company’s general manager for Advanced Fuel Technologies. The position will report to Steven Sterin, senior vice president and chief financial officer and president of Celanese’s Advanced Fuel Technologies division. Fotheringham will be responsible for the international commercialization of Celanese TCX for fuels. Celanese TCX is a proprietary advanced technology that produces ethanol from hydrocarbon feedstocks. Fotheringham comes to the Advanced Fuel Technologies segment from the Acetyl Intermediates business segment at Celanese, where he was general manager. (August 2, 2011)
