CCE starts new biodiesel plant
China Clean Energy (CCE) has started firing up a new biodiesel plant at Jianyin city, Jiangsu province, China, almost a year later than the original plan. The U.S.-listed biodiesel maker said that commissioning was underway at a 100,000 metric ton per year plant, which will become its second biodiesel factory in China. CCE already runs a 10,000 metric ton per year biodiesel plant in Fuqing city, Fujian province. Faced with soaring feedstock costs and low biodiesel prices, CCE closed the Fuqing plant between March and November last year. The company has managed to finish the Jianyin plant, which it first announced in 2007, with an original start-up date of fourth quarter 2008. (October 22, 2009)
