Cathay Pacific joins sustainable aviation fuel group
Cathay Pacific Airways has announced that it has joined the Sustainable Aviation Fuel Users Group, an airline-led industry working group united by the need to accelerate the commercialization of aviation biofuels by developing robust, global sustainability criteria and best practices for the aviation biofuel markets. Alongside Cathay Pacific, a number of other airlines, including Alaska Airlines, British Airways, Germany’s TUIfly and Australia’s Virgin Blue, have joined the group as its newest members. Existing members include Air France, Air New Zealand, ANA (All Nippon Airways), Cargolux, Gulf Air, Japan Airlines, KLM, SAS and Virgin Atlantic Airways. (July 22, 2009)
