Cathay Pacific CEO criticizes ETS scheme
Cathay Pacific Chief Executive John Slosar criticized Europe’s emissions trading system (ETS), calling it “shoddy thinking.” Slosar said that the ETS will not address the problem of airline emissions and suggested that biofuels can better curb pollution from aircrafts. Slosar also said that with the global controversy caused by the ETS scheme, a global deal in airlines emissions would be the better option. (February 13, 2012)
