Cambodia’s fuel imports value up by 31% in first half

Cambodia’s petroleum product imports by value rose by 31% in the first half of 2010, despite a 13% decline in volume, as oil prices increased in the global market. Imports totaled US$297 million to the end of July this year, from US$225 million during the same period a year ago. Cambodia imported 440,607 tons of petroleum products in the first half of 2010, from 509,660 tons during the same period a year ago. Cambodia imported a range of petroleum products, including cooking fuels as well as petrol and diesel fuels. Since Camcontrols figures do not separate the different types of petroleum products, analysts cannot say which products registered a decline. (August 16, 2010)
