Cambodia remains top petroleum importer of Vietnam

Cambodia remained Vietnam’s biggest buyer of petroleum products in the first quarter of this year with 211,341 metric tons worth US$138.78 million, making up 47.2% and 47.6% of the country’s total export volume and value, respectively. It was followed by China with 114,177 metric tons valued at US$76.84 million and Japan with 23,257 metric tons worth US$13.77 million, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said on its website. Between January and March, Vietnam shipped abroad 447,444 metric tons of petroleum products worth US$291.34 million, down 2.7% from a year earlier in volume but up 50.4% in value. (May 5, 2010)
