CAAM says country is not ready for China IV emission standards

The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) has issued a warning against the implementation of China IV emission standards in the country, reports Automotive News China. The association says that the limited availability of high-quality gasoline (petrol) in China is a key reason to avoid such a move. “For one thing, the quality of existing fuel oil cannot ensure the implementation of China-IV emission standards. For another, it will cause emissions to fast deteriorate and reduce product life if vehicles are forced to adopt advanced emissions technology when fuel oil quality falls short of requirements,” CAAM said.
