CAAM calls for cooperation among Chinese auto makers
Secretary General of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) Dong Yang has called for greater cooperation among local auto makers to develop alternative-fuel vehicles in the country, reports Shanghai Daily. “The cooperation could involve the establishment of industrial standards for electric cars as well as joint investment and production,” Yang said. According to Yang, China’s alternative-fuel vehicles are currently less technologically advanced than those produced by General Motors (GM) and Toyota globally, owing to less-efficient batteries and engines.
