BYD to soon start production at new Chinese facility
Chinese automaker BYD Co. plans to begin production at its Changsha facility in Hunan province from October, reports the Shenzhen Post. The Changsha Municipal Development and Reform Commission confirmed the news, stating that the plant will have a passenger car production capacity of 30,000 units per annum (upa). In addition, the facility will also be used to manufacture 10,000 diesel buses and 3,000 electric buses per year, to be deployed as part of the local government’s public transport program.
