Brazil Raizen ups sugar cane crushing projection in 2012
Raizen, the biofuels joint venture of Brazilian sector player Cosan and Anglo-Dutch oil major Shell, expects to crush some 56 million tons of sugar cane in crop year 2012-13 against the previously estimated 55 million tons. The Brazilian Sugarcane Industry Association (UNICA) revised upwards the projected volume of sugar cane to be crushed by current producers during the current crop year by 1.87% to 518.5 million tons.
