Brazil-Japan ethanol delivers E3 fuel to third station

Brazil-Japan Ethanol began delivery of E3 fuel, which is a blend of 97% gasoline and 3% bioethanol, to a third service station in the Japan, advancing toward its target of 10 such service stations in Fiscal 2010. The joint venture between Japan Alcohol Trading and Brazilian energy major Petrobras had installed a new E3 production facility and storage tank at its plant in Sodegaura, Chiba Prefecture, to prepare for its delivery to the service station in Ibaraki Prefecture, whose eight lanes had been switched from supplying normal gasoline to E3 fuel. Brazil-Japan Ethanol said it plans to continue to promote E3 fuel to consumers and station operators, but has no intention of becoming an E3 dealer. The company is cooperating with the Ministry of the Environment to spread a network of E3 service stations across the country under a three-year project to verify the regional commercialization of environmentally friendly fuels in metropolitan areas.
