BP Biofuels invests US$350 million to double ethanol processing capacity of Brazil plant

BP Biofuels plans to double the ethanol processing capacity of its sugarcane processing venture, Tropical, in Brazil to 5 million tons of sugarcane which would generate 450 million liters per year. The project, scheduled to begin in 2013, entails construction of a new mill which is projected to be fully operational by the end of 2014 or early 2015. BP will spend US$350 million on the project.
