Bosch to build new automotive technology plant in Samara, Russia
Bosch has announced plans to open a new automotive technology plant in Samara, Russia. The plant will manufacture anti-lock braking systems and alternators. Bosch’s press release stated that the plant will produce new products, including starters and common-rail injectors for commercial vehicles. Operations of three divisions: Chassis Systems Control, Starter Motors and Generators and Diesel Systems will be moved to the new site.
Construction of the €40 million (US$52.7 million) plant will begin in the first six months of 2013, and by the end of 2017, the company plans to employ 500 people. (December 19, 2012)
