Bosch opens high-tech factory to produce car parts in Vietnam

Robert Bosch GmbH, a world leader in the production of automotive parts, announced the opening of a factory in Dong Nai in Southern Vietnam. The factory produces continuous variable transmission (CVT) push belts. The company plans on producing 1.6 million productions in 2011. The CVT components can be used in a range of vehicles, from subcompact cars to sports utility vehicles (SUVs). The car components will be exported to Japan and eventually China. Rolf Bulander, President of Bosch gasoline systems segment, said there could be additional investments in Vietnam in the future. (April 15, 2011)
