Boeing to push biofuel development with China
Boeing Co. is pushing forward the development and commercialization of biofuel sources and is talking with China about related cooperation, disclosed Matthew Ganz, vice president (VP) of Boeing Commercial Airplanes and general manager (GM) of Boeing Research & Technology. The U.S.-based company will further cooperation with China in the areas of energy, environmental protection, air traffic management and aviation safety. Boeing is in active discussion with the Chinese Academy of Sciences and some colleges regarding biofuel cooperation, said Ganz. It is a must to find biofuel that can be commercially developed in large amount for the global aviation industry, in a bid to reduce dependence on oil, reduce cost, and cut back aviation emission, he said.
