Boeing needs to improve 777 efficiency

U.S. aircraft maker Boeing Co. needs to work on improving the efficiency of its 777 commercial airliner, said Tony Tyler, chief executive of Hong-Kong-based Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd. His comments came after Cathay Pacific sealed a deal with Boeing’s European rival Airbus for 30 A350-900 aircrafts, which industry observers have said highlights Boeing’s need to upgrade and modernize its 777 planes. Tyler added that Boeing is aware of the need to modernize the 777 model range. (September 17, 2010)
