Biofuel manufacturers need new licenses

Malaysia’s Primary Industries and Commodities Ministry has given existing 91 biofuel manufacturing license holders until April 2009 to reapply for a new operating license. Since Nov. 1, 2008, the Ministry has taken over the charge of issuing biofuel-manufacturing licenses from the International Trade and Industry Ministry under the new Malaysian Biofuel Industry Act 2007. The Ministry is also looking at the option of approving applications by the existing biofuel license holders and also review those that have lapsed or still delaying the construction of their biofuel plants.
