BHPetrol launches new synthetic engine oil
BHPETROL expects the newly launched fully synthetic SynGard 8000 will help double sales of its engine oils for passenger cars in Malaysia; Managing Director Tan Kim Thiam said the additive component in SynGard 8000 provides five times more protection to the engines because it reduces wear and tear levels up to five times more than the limit recommended by the American Petroleum Institute. Boustead Petroleum Marketing Sdn Bhd, a member of the Boustead group of companies, distributes BHPetrol fuel and lubricants.
SynGard 8000’s formulation gives the oil an excellent ability to build protective shields on moving engine parts. In addition to providing increased lubricant film strength, it also protects metal surfaces even in the most extreme temperatures and operating conditions. Its strong points are sludge control, piston cleanliness, excellent bearing corrosion prevention, ring sticking deterrence, and excellent valvetrain/cylinder wear protection.
The new SynGard 8000 was launched with a demonstration on a BHPetrol-sponsored racing car, the Lotus Elise. Also present were Zulkifflee bin Hj Hassan, team manager from Garang Racing (which has a history going back to the 1980s) and Law Yew Chin, senior marketing manager, engine oil, of Afton Chemical Asia Pacific who elaborated of the benefits of using the new lubricant on the race track as well as on public roads.
Priced at RM188 (US$60.26) for a 4-liter pack, SynGard 8000 is available at all BHPetrol service stations and also from independent dealers in many areas. (July 18, 2012)
