Bharat Petroleum plans to expand Kochi refinery
Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd. (BPCL) plans to expand its refinery at Kochi, southern India, to help meet its annual refining capacity target of 50 million tons. A company spokesman said that existing crude supply infrastructure at the Kochi refinery allows for expansion to 15 million tons in the next two to three years. Bharat has previously said it would look at expanding the Bina refinery further, to as much as 15 million tons. However, the expansion of the Kochi refinery is likely to kick off before the expansion of the Bina refinery, the spokesman said. (December 3, 2010)
