Bharat Petroleum completes phase 2 of expansion project
Bharat Petroleum’s Kochi Refinery launched its Rs 4,000 crore (US$769 million) Capacity Expansion and Modernization Project – Phase ll in October. The facility in Kerala is considered one of the largest capital investments in the region and is expected to increase the capacity of the Kochi Refinery from 7.5 to 9.5 million tons per annum (mtpa). The new plant will also help the company supply the increasing demand for petroleum products in the region. The refinery is equipped to produce Euro-lll and Euro-lV compliant fuels. (October 21, 2011)
