Beijing Petroleum Exchange to launch trading in August
China’s Beijing Petroleum Exchange, or BPE, expects to launch the physical trading of refined oil products by the end of August, a source from the exchange said. After a series of delays from the setting up of the exchange in 2008, BPE resumed operations on July 30. Contracts for refined oil products, fuel oil, kerosene, jet fuel, lubricating oil, solvent oil, naphtha and LPG will be launched by the end of the month. Meanwhile, the trading of petrochemical products such as methanol, toluene, monoethylene glycol, formaldehyde, styrene monomer and mixed-xylenes will commence by October. (August 5, 2010)
