Battery switching test begins in Tokyo

Better Place, a California start-up that develops electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and major Japanese taxi company Nihon Kotsu Co. launched a verification test on electric cabs with batteries that can be changed quickly. Through the test, which will go on until the end of July, Better Place and Nihon Kotsu aim to promote taxis with replaceable batteries by confirming the benefits of eliminating the time spent on battery recharges.
