Sales of BASF in India reached Rs7,500 crore (US$1.35 billion) in 2011, 15% higher compared to Rs 6,105.6 crore (US$1.1 billion) in 2010; this has made the country one of BASF’s major markets in the Asia-Pacific region. BASF has nine production sites in India, two R&D centers and employs 1,830 personnel. “Over the past five years, our sales in India have more than doubled. This shows the importance of India for BASF as one of our two major growth markets in Asia-Pacific.
