BASF reorganizes petrochemicals division
BASF AG has reorganized its Petrochemicals Division effective July 1, reducing its six business units to four. The new business units include Basic Petrochemicals Europe, which is headed by Uwe Kirchgäßner and comprises the businesses for cracker products and industrial gases, as well as alkylene oxides and glycols in Europe; Industrial Petrochemicals Europe, headed by Detlef Kratz, which encompasses acrylics as well as alcohols, solvents and plasticizers in Europe; Petrochemicals North America, headed by Peter Cella, who is in charge of all North American petrochemicals operations; and Petrochemicals Asia-Pacific, headed by Sanjeev Gandhi, who will take charge of all of BASF’s Asia-Pacific petrochemical businesses.
