Bangchak seeks partner for ethanol plant
Thailand’s Bangchak Petroleum is in talks with the country’s largest sugar miller, Mitr Phol Sugar Group, about a possible joint investment in an ethanol plant worth 1.5 billion baht (US$44.71 million). The ethanol plant will have a production capacity of 200,000 liters per day. Bangchak President Anusorn Sangnimnuan said the company is in talks with many potential partners, including Mitr Phol, about the project. The company is expected to wrap up a partnership deal this year, with plant construction to take two years. “Bangchak needs an experienced partner with an abundant supply of the raw materials needed for ethanol production,” Anusorn said.
