Bangchak assures supplies after fire
Bangchak Petroleum says the fire at its diesel production unit will not affect the company’s sales or its plan to operate the refinery under the Euro 4 standard in the third quarter of this year. President Anusorn Saengnimnual said the company had inventory of crude oil and refined oil products totaling 5 million barrels, which is enough for domestic consumption over the next two months. The fire was sparked by a leak in a hydrogen pipeline joint. Anusorn said Bangchak estimated revenue loss of 30 million baht (US$980,880) due to the fire at the cracker-oil unit. (January 15, 2011)
