Australian motorists overcharged for premium fuel
National Roads and Motorists’ Association (NRMA) research says that Queensland motorists are being overcharged by up to A$0.04 (US$0.03) a liter for premium fuel.Bundaberg drivers buying premium fuel are being ripped off at the bowser, with research suggesting stations are charging A$0.11(US$0.09) more than for regular fuel. โOn July 29, 2007, the weekly average gap between regular and 98 octane petrol was around nine cents per liter; on August 30, 2009 the gap was almost 15 cents,โ NRMA President Wendy Machin said. NRMA has approached Petrol Commissioner Joe Demasi demanding an investigation into the expanding gap between premium and regular fuel prices. (October 2, 2009)
