Australia slaps preliminary dumping notice on U.S. biodiesel imports
Australia has slapped a preliminary dumping duty notice on imports of biodiesel from the U.S., after the first stage of an investigation launched on June 22. Australian Customs and Border Protection Service CEO Michael Carmody was satisfied that there appeared to be sufficient grounds for the publication of a dumping duty notice and a countervailing duty notice with respect to biodiesel imported to Australia from the United States. Carmody is due to make recommendations by December 22 to the Minister for Home Affairs Brendan O’ Connor, who will then decide whether to publish a dumping duty notice and, if relevant, the level of measures to be imposed.
