Asian refinery upgrade and construction plans

PetroChina’s Dagang unit is adding a hydrocracking facility and is part of an ongoing expansion plan as it awaits firm news to build a joint venture refinery with Russia. The Dagang refinery, in the northern port of Tianjin, has been shortlisted as a potential partner for a proposed 200,000 barrels-per-day (bpd) refinery with Russian state-giant Rosneft, officials have told Reuters. The plant is due to complete a one-million-ton-per-year (20,000-bpd) hydrocracker in October to match its newly upgraded crude distillation capacity, according to an industry official.
