Ashok Leyland develops new fuel-efficient engine technology for Indian market
Ashok Leyland, Hinduja Group’s flagship automobile manufacturer, has developed a fuel-efficient engine technology which is especially suited for its Indian product portfolio. The leading automaker affirmed that the cutting-edge new technology-laden engine assemblies will be used in its truck ranges that retail in India for Rs15.1 lakh (US$276,454) and Rs18.83 lakh (US$344,744).
Vinod K. Dasari, managing director (MD), confidently said that the new technology will improve their profitability, due to lower fuel costs.
Ashok Leyland has launched a brand-new range of haulage trucks that have been modified to deliver at least 10% fuel economy over their traditional counterparts. Furthermore, the company’s advanced power-mill twin speed technology will be on offer on some of the company’s flagship models. (November 23, 2012)
