ANP to review Brazil’s biodiesel production

ANP, Brazil’s oil industry regulatory agency, said it will hire a certification agency to review the country’s biodiesel production. The review will include an analysis of the percentage of biodiesel to be blended with diesel fuel. The agency has received requests to increase the amount of biodiesel to 30% to 40%, from the current 5%. Juan Diego Ferrer, president of the Brazilian Biodiesel Union (Ubrabio), said that by hiring a certification agency, this will allow the establishment of a quality benchmark for the optimal biodiesel blend.
