Chinese automaker Anhui Jianghuai has announced that it will begin construction of its truck manufacturing facility in Vietnam in April 2010. Chairman Zuo Yan’an confirmed the news, stating that the upcoming Vietnamese facility will be used to produce medium- and light-duty trucks for the local market. Citing the construction of this new plant as a key part of the company’s overseas development plans, he added that Anhui Jianghuai aims to annually export 15% of its total output to overseas markets by the end of China’s 12th Five-Year Plan (2011-2015). Yan’an said that the company’s overall vehicle production is expected to reach 1 million units per annum by 2015, and at least 400,000 units this year. (March 10, 2010)
