Andhra Petrochem to expand production

India’s Andhra Petrochemicals (APL), located in West Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh, will expand its production capacity for oxo-alcohols, such as ethyl hexanol, butanol and iso butanol, from 39,000 tons a year to 73,000 tons a year. The expansion will cost around Rs2.8 billion (US$65.61 million) and is expected to be completed by the end of 2009. APL is currently the only oxo-alcohol producer in India, but it can only meet around a third of total local market demand. (March 21, 2007)
